Overview

The View tab in Microsoft PowerPoint is where you can control how you view and navigate your presentation, access various editing and formatting tools, and set up your workspace.

1. Presentation Views:

  • Normal: This is the default view for editing your slides with the slide thumbnails on the left and the main slide in the center.
  • Slide Sorter: In this view, you see thumbnail representations of all your slides, making it easy to reorder and manage them.
  • Notes Page: Allows you to view and edit speaker notes associated with each slide.
  • Reading View: This view is for practicing and rehearsing your presentation, simulating the way it will appear during a presentation.

2. Show:

4. Color/Grayscale:

5. Slide Show:

  • From Beginning: Starts the slide show from the beginning.
  • From Current Slide: Starts the slide show from the slide you are currently on.

6. Zoom:

Adjust the zoom level for your slide canvas.

7. Macros (not shown in all versions):

8. Window:

Manage open presentations and arrange them on the screen.

9. Switch Windows:

Switch between open PowerPoint presentations and other applications.

10. New Window:

Opens a new window with the current presentation, allowing you to work on different parts of the same presentation simultaneously.

11. Arrange All:

Arranges all open PowerPoint windows side by side for easy comparison and editing.

12. View Side by Side:

Compares two open presentations or views side by side.

13. Synchronous Scrolling:

When viewing two presentations side by side, this option synchronizes scrolling between the two presentations.

14. Guides:

Provides options for adding, aligning, and managing guides in your presentation.

15. Grid and Guides:

Offers additional options for configuring the grid and guides for precise alignment.

Navigation In View Tab Using Screen Readers

  8. Switch Between Color and Grayscale: In the “Color/Grayscale” group, use the arrow keys to select “Color” or “Grayscale” and press Enter to toggle between the two display modes.
  9. Start Slide Show: To start the slide show from the beginning, navigate to the “Slide Show” group and select “From Beginning” using the arrow keys and pressing Enter.
  10. Zoom In and Out: Use the “Zoom” option in the “Zoom” group to adjust the zoom level as needed for your presentation.
