Fun Games For Hearts

The next virtual therapy session was full of therapeutic exercises. Mrs. Gargi decided to spread a little magic using Gestalt therapy exercises that were like fun games for the heart.

As Tejas and Jeevika joined the online session, Mrs. Gargi explained with a twinkle in her eyes “These exercises are like playing games that will help you understand yourselves and each other better”. Tejas and Jeevika were ready for the adventure.

The first exercise was a bit like a treasure hunt of emotions. Mrs. Gargi introduced the “Emotion Mapping” game. Tejas and Jeevika were given colored markers and a large sheet of paper, which they were asked to arrange before their session by Mrs. Gargi. They were asked to draw and label their emotions – happiness, anxiety, love and everything in between. It was like creating a map of their feelings, and as the paper filled with colors, they discovered the landscape of their hearts.

Mrs. Gargi with a happy smile guided them to share their emotion maps. It was like exchanging secret maps to each other’s feelings. Tejas smiled at Jeevika’s doodles, and Jeevika giggled as she revealed hidden corners of Tejas’s emotional world. This exercise promoted self-awareness and mutual understanding, turning their feelings into a shared adventure.

The next game was like storytelling. Mrs. Gargi introduced the “Life Timeline” exercise. Tejas and Jeevika were given a long piece of paper to make a timeline of important events in their lives. It was like creating a colorful street that told stories of their past. They shared childhood memories, educational milestones and even the moments that shaped their dreams.

As they talked about their timelines, the virtual room became a stage for their life stories. Mrs. Gargi, with her dramatic flair, encouraged them to connect the dots between their deadlines. It was like seeing a group of shared experiences, building a bridge between their worlds. This exercise deepened their understanding of each other’s journeys, creating a tapestry of shared history.

The final game was somewhat like a dance of perspectives. Mrs. Gargi introduced the practice of “role reversal”. Tejas and Jeevika were asked to switch roles and express how they felt about the other person. It was like stepping into each other’s shoes and dancing to the rhythm of empathy.

Tejas, with a playful spirit, imitated Jeevika’s mannerisms and shared what he thought she might feel in certain situations. Jeevika laughingly did the same for Tejas. It was a light-hearted exchange of viewpoints, cultivating mutual understanding and creating space for shared laughter.

As the session ended, Mrs. Gargi appreciated Tejas and Jeevika for their enthusiasm and openness during the exercise. The virtual room, once filled with games, became a playground of emotions and shared experiences.
